Behind the scenes

I just posted the last update of the day for Joe and Jen, now relaxing with the worlds best summer ale, going to read for a bit and talk to e before bed.

The last few hours have included a lot of uncertainty and things could definitely transpire overnight or tomorrow that could undo a lot of the days gains. Still, the main surgeon was relatively optimistic I guess as was Mary Beth who left when we did.

Of course they were among the first in the waiting room this morning and the last ones there when we left. They're pretty exhausted and of course it didn't help that joel and joe and I were heatedly debating Narnia, kids and violence, and whether or not the christian passion is an appropriate story for kindergartners. Fortunately MB broke up that last one with an update.

It seems like they will know a lot more tomorrow morning, but regardless, tomorrow will be a busy day in the PICU. Hopefully one of them will be able to post some more detailed info on the main boards in the morning.

While we wait...summer in chicago.

So from what I've heard, Zaya is in, though I haven't heard any details. Apparently he was having svt through the night so they were all 3 up most of the night and Joe was sounding pretty whipped on the phone.

We're supposed to have rain here in a few hours, so I'm going to hit the showers and find a playground with Joey. Its a grat day here though, probably 70 with a nice breeze, not humid at all yet.

I'll be watching the boards with everyone else today too, figure these guys will post something before too long.

All the ducks in a row, boys are in bed, as ready as everyone will befor tomorrow I guess. I'll be with joey tomorrow and joel and nicole with joe and jen for the long wait. For now, beers at the convent on a perfect night in chicago.

Time for dinner at the retreat center, finally have all the lodgings set and now just need to make sure joe and jen get some food after a long day.

Checking in to ronald mcdonald house, which just came through--should be a good setup. We just have nicole's lodging to figure out, and joel comes in at 8pm.

On the way to the zoo while zaya gets some xrays and bloodtests. Still trying to work out all of the lodging logistics this morning.

Checked into the convent after short visit with joe and jen and joey (zaya was already crashed out). Things are a little hectic but the usual J/J humor prevails.
